About the player
Esme Morgan joined Manchester City's academy in 2016, when the club opened its Regional Talent Club, and made her senior debut for the Women's side in September 2017 at the age of sixteen. She signed her first professional contract, a three-year deal, and spent the 2019–20 season on loan at Everton in the FA Women's Super League. She returned to Manchester City and stayed until 2024, making more than 47 senior appearances and winning the Women's FA Cup and two League Cups.
In June 2024, Morgan left England for the first time, signing a four-year contract with Washington Spirit. Manchester City received a transfer fee, though the clubs did not disclose the amount. With Washington Spirit she has already added an NWSL Challenge Cup to her list of honours.
