About the player
Maïyar Hatavi was fourteen years old when she walked out for Malmö FF Women against AIK in April 2025, and with that single appearance became the youngest player ever to debut in the Damallsvenskan. It was the culmination of a path that started far from Malmö: at six, after her family moved to Småland, she began playing for IFK Stockaryd/Rörviks IF, before joining Malmö FF's youth setup, where she worked her way up through the age groups to the U19 side.
That academy grounding paid off quickly. Hatavi was part of the Malmö FF Women squad that won the Elitettan in 2024, sealing promotion to the Damallsvenskan, and she followed her record-breaking debut by signing her first professional contract with the club in June 2025, tying her to the team until the summer of 2028.
She has been capped for Sweden's under-15s, taking part in a national training camp in Halmstad for players born in 2010, and has since stepped up to the under-16 side, where she was named in squads for matches against the Netherlands, Spain and the USA in Albir.
At Malmö FF Women, Hatavi wears the number 25 shirt as a midfielder. For now, her name in Swedish football is tied above all to that one number: the age at which she first took the field in the top flight.
