About the player
His development began at FC Haute-Tarentaise before Olympique Lyonnais brought him into their academy for around two years. He returned to his home region in 2017 to join FC Annecy, where he worked through the U17s and reserve sides and made his senior debut at just fifteen.
The following years took him through a string of clubs across the lower leagues: Puy Foot 43 Auvergne, where he rose from the U19s into the senior squad in National 2, then AS Cannes, SO Châtellerault and Bourges Foot 18, where he made 24 appearances in 26 matches during the 2023–2024 National 2 campaign. A move to FC Villefranche Beaujolais followed for the 2024–2025 National season.
Each of those transfers came without a fee, and Rodez continued the pattern: Joly signed with the club on 1 July 2025 on a free transfer, putting pen to paper on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
