Roni Mimb Baheng

Roni Mimb Baheng's move to Olympique de Marseille in 2023 came with a complication before it came with a debut. His departure from Kadji Sports Academy in Cameroon was disputed by the academy and the Cameroonian Football Federation over questions of documentation and identity, a case that only ended when FIFA confirmed the transfer's validity. The defender's career in France began, in effect, with a ruling.

Born in Douala, Baheng progressed through Cameroonian youth football before Kadji Sports Academy took him on, and it was from there that Marseille came calling. Once the transfer was settled, he signed his first professional contract at the club in June 2024, tied to the club until 2028, though his football was mostly played out of view of the first team, with the reserve side in National 3. A left-footed centre-back who can also play at left-back, he stands out physically at 188 cm.

A loan to SC Aubagne Air Bel for the 2025–2026 season gave him what Marseille's reserves could not: regular first-team football in National, the third tier, where he started consistently across 24 appearances.

He was called into Cameroon's U20 squad for a fixture against England in June 2025, and into an U23 training camp the following March, but has yet to add senior recognition or goals to his record.
