About the player
Zakaria Fdaouch's route to Ligue 2 ran through some of French football's smaller grounds rather than an academy fast track. After leaving the youth ranks at Girondins de Bordeaux and Châteauroux, he spent several seasons in the lower divisions with UES Montmorillon, Les Genêts d'Anglet and US Saint-Malo. At Dijon FCO, Fdaouch had the best season of his career: 10 goals and 8 assists as the club won the Championnat National title and returned to Ligue 2. He joined Belgian side KMSK Deinze for a fee of €125,000 in July 2024. He scored three goals in ten appearances there before the club went bankrupt in January 2025. He returned to France as a free agent, signing for AS Nancy Lorraine. Fdaouch, who holds both French and Moroccan nationality, was capped by France at Under-19 level.
