Al Fujairah SC

The East Coast derby against Sharjah is what sharpens the calendar for Al-Fujairah SC, though the more local grudge sits with Khor Fakkan Club. Fixtures against either bring a different edge than the ordinary run of a Pro League season.

What The Wolves have not managed is a top-flight title, or the President's Cup, or the League Cup. Their honours sit a level down, in the UAE First Division League, won in 1985–86, 1989–90 and 2005–06. Promotion has mattered more than any trophy, and the clearest case of it came in 2013–14, when the Brazilian forward Patrick Fabiano scored 20 goals in 31 appearances and pushed the club back into the Pro League.

The club's best-known name arrived from outside football altogether in the sense that his fame had nothing to do with Fujairah: Diego Maradona took over as head coach in May 2017 and left in April 2018.

Home games are played at a stadium holding 10,650, red and blue in the stands to match the shirts. None of it explains why a club plays at all — that goes back to 1968, when Al-Fujairah SC was founded.
