Al-haras Al-jumhuri

Stade du Ville sits in Djibouti City and holds around 20,000 people; the ground carries a second name, El Hadj Hassan Gouled Aptidon Stadium, after the country's first president, and doubles as the national stadium. Al-Haras Al-Jumhuri plays there as the football side of the Djiboutian Republican Guard, its Arabic name translating simply to Republican Guard.

Domestically the club has been the country's benchmark since the 2010s. It took the Djibouti Premier League in 2019–20 and again in 2022–23, added three Djibouti Cup titles across 2008–09, 2011–12 and 2014–15, and collected the Djibouti Super Cup four times, most recently in 2022. Regionally, it is Djibouti's standing representative in the CECAFA Club Cup, a competition where a small federation gets to measure itself against East Africa's established powers. In the 2026 edition the club reached the semi-finals despite losing all three group games, to Vipers SC, APR FC and Gor Mahia, a run that says more about the tournament's structure than about the group stage itself.

What the club has not settled, in any record available, is when it began. One unverified account points to 2005, but nothing ties the Republican Guard's football side to a founding date with certainty. What is certain is the purpose behind it: a security force fielding a team under its own name, playing on a stadium built for a head of state, in a league it now leads more often than anyone else.
