BAK 07 U19

Wedding has never been Berlin's showcase district, and Berliner AK 07 has spent most of its history matching that station. It started as an athletics club in December 1907, with football added the following year, apart from a stretch between 2006 and 2011 when a partnership with the Turkish side Ankaraspor sent the team out in blue and white under the name Berlin Ankaraspor Kulübü 07.

Since 2008 it has played at the Poststadion. The biggest came out of the Ankaraspor years: the 2010 Berlin Cup win carried the side into the DFB-Pokal, where in 2012 they beat 1899 Hoffenheim 4–0 in the first round, a scoreline that still gets mentioned before anything the club has done domestically. A second Berlin Cup followed in 2012, and a runner-up finish came in 2021.

Domestically the honours sit lower down the pyramid — the Verbandsliga Berlin in 1999, the Landesliga Berlin in 1995 — the kind of titles that matter locally without troubling the national record books. The closest thing to a fixture with real needle is against BFC Dynamo, a Berlin derby that runs separately from the city's more famous Hertha-Union rivalry.

Of the players who have worn the shirt, Jürgen Gjasula is the name still tied to the club in most conversations about it — a midfielder who went through Berliner AK 07 before a career that took him well past Wedding.
