BC Neptūnas

Arvydas Macijauskas has his number hanging in Švyturio Arena, retired alongside those of Eurelijus Žukauskas and Martynas Mažeika. The team came into being in 1962 as BC Maistas and took the name Neptūnas two years later, a fitting choice for a port club in Klaipėda.

Second place has come twice, in 2013–14 and 2015–16, and third five times, most recently in 2025–26. The closest run at a trophy came in the King Mindaugas Cup in 2024–25, when Neptūnas reached the final and lost to Žalgiris Kaunas. Further back, in the Soviet era, the club took the Lithuanian SSR Championship in 1983. European basketball has taken them as far as the EuroLeague, in 2014–15, and into the EuroCup and the Basketball Champions League in the years after.

No fixture carries more weight than the one against BC Šiauliai. Through the 2000s and into the following decade the two sides fought out bronze-medal playoffs that hardened into a rivalry with its own history.
