«Styrian Bears»
Styrian Bears won the Silver Bowl XXVIII in 2026, beating the AFC Vienna Vikings II 49:7 to take their first Division 1 title in the Austrian Football League (AFL). They did it with an undefeated season behind them.
St. Pölten Invaders won the 2024 Silver Bowl against them, and AFC Rangers Mödling won the 2025 one. Both times the Bears had played their way to the last game and lost it, and in 2026 they went one step further.
The club from Graz was founded in 2007 and plays in light blue, which is why German-language fans sometimes call it the Blaue Bären. The Challenge Bowl of 2009 was the first title. The 2016 Iron Bowl against the Maribor Generals ended 21:20, so one point separated the Bears from another year in the second tier. There is also a title from the Styrian Indoor Bowl in 2020, where they beat the Styrian Reavers 34:18.
The 2026 side had a bad year to make up for. When the Bears first reached Division 1, in 2023, they lost all ten games.
