Cəbrayıl

Since August 2026 the team has carried a different name and played in a different city. Sold for 400,000 manats and renamed Gəncəbasar FK, it moved from Baku to Ganja, took up residence at the Ganja City Stadium, and carried its playing rights into the Birinci Dəstə, the First League. Həşim Mövsümzadə was named president, with İlqar Nadiri put in charge of the team.

The route there ran through the lower divisions under the old name, Cəbrayıl. The club won the Azerbaijan Regional League in 2022 and used that title to qualify for the UEFA Regions' Cup the following year. In the 2023/2024 Second League season it finished runner-up with 58 points from 19 wins, scoring 77 goals along the way — a tally built in part by Dileyn Açimi, who found the net 14 times in 25 appearances — and that finish carried the club up to the First League.

The club had been formed for a specific purpose. In September 2021 Cavid Hüseynov founded it in Baku to represent people displaced from the Jabrayil district, and for its first years it played in yellow and black at the 3,200-capacity ASCO Arena.
