Collina d'Oro

Football there predates the municipality itself: the club began as Unione Sportiva Gentilino, formed on 24 May 1968.

That reason arrived on 10 March 2004, when Gentilino, Montagnola and Agra merged into the single municipality of Collina d'Oro. The club changed its name the same day, under president Mirto Balmelli.

It still plays at Campo Campari in Gentilino. Yellow and blue remain the colours carried over from the Gentilino years.

The 2023-2024 season brought the club's clearest result in some time: first place in Group 3 of the 2. Liga Interregional, with 32 points, enough to go up to the 1. Liga Classic, the fourth tier of the Swiss pyramid. FC Gambarogno-Contone, a familiar name from the same group, finished well back on 16. In the Swiss Cup the gap to the professional game showed itself plainly — a first-round exit in August 2023, beaten 4-0 by FC Wil.

No national title sits in the club's history. What it has instead is a promotion earned the season before last, and 32 points that took a village team, twice renamed by geography, into the fourth tier.
