Grobničan Čavle

Grobničani are a Third League side, and the club's history sits mostly there. That afternoon came in the 2023/24 preliminary round, when Grobničan Čavle beat NK Papuk Orahovica 29:1, with Dražen Pilčić alone scoring eleven goals, a tally that stands as the most by a single player in a Croatian Cup match. The rest of the club's cup record is far more modest: three trips to the round of 16, in 2006/07, 2022/23 and 2023/24, and no further. On the league ladder, the club's best season came in 2012/13, when it won the 3. HNL – Zapad and earned promotion to the second tier. Five years earlier, in 2007/08, Grobničan had already topped the 4. HNL – Zapad. The club plays out of Mavrinci, in the Čavle municipality near Rijeka, at the Adelija Beba Haramija ground, which holds 3,200. Anas Sharbini, who went on to play for Rijeka and Hajduk Split, passed through the club on his way into Croatian football; Fulvio Poropat and Kristan Fućak are also remembered locally as former players.
