Horsham

Promotion to the National League South arrived in 2024–25, when Horsham won the Isthmian League Premier Division. Getting there took the long way round: after selling the old Queen Street ground in 2008, Horsham spent years ground-sharing at Worthing and Horsham YMCA before settling at the Hop Oast Stadium, built for them and opened in 2019.

The FA Cup has given the club its widest audience. In 2007–08 Horsham reached the Second Round for the first time and lost to Swansea City. In 2023–24 they went further still, drawing 3–3 at Barnsley in the First Round Proper; when Barnsley were thrown out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player, the replay was shown on ITV and Horsham advanced without kicking a ball, before Sutton United beat them 3–0 in the Second Round.

Sussex Senior Cup wins in 2024 and 2025 came either side of the league title, and the club's derby with Lewes carries the county's sharpest edge. The nickname Hornets and the yellow-and-black halved shirts both date to 1969, chosen by supporters in a competition rather than handed down from the club's founding.

Gary Charman made over 600 appearances for Horsham before managing the side himself.
