Huizen

SV Huizen has spent most of its life at amateur level, and the two national amateur titles it holds, from 1973–74 and 2002–03, mark the club's high points rather than any run of sustained success. The first came against USV Elinkwijk, the second against Türkiyemspor Amsterdam, decades apart, which says something about how rarely that particular trophy has come round.

The club shares Sportpark De Wolfskamer with HSV De Zuidvogels, and their meetings, known locally as the Huizenderby, carry more weight in the town than most of the club's league fixtures. Regional cup wins in 2000–01 and 2018–19 filled the gaps between the bigger amateur titles, proof that the club kept competing even when the national stage stayed out of reach.

Promotion to the Derde Divisie in 2015–16, lost again, then recovered through the play-offs in 2023–24, shows a club that keeps knocking on that door rather than settling below it. Oliver Koster left for Ajax's youth academy in 2013, one of the few threads connecting Huizen to the professional game beyond its own results. The step up to full-time football, and the budget and squad depth that would make staying there straightforward, is the thing still missing.
