Jadran LP

Ploče is a port town on the Neretva delta, and the club that carries the port's name in its own — Luka Ploče — has spent most of its life shuttling between the third and second tiers of Croatian football rather than settling anywhere for long. Founded in 1959, Jadran LP has never lifted a national title or a Croatian Cup.

What the club has produced, more consistently than silverware, is players who left Ploče for bigger stages. Hrvoje Vejić started here before going on to play at Euro 2008 for Croatia, and later came back to the club as its president.

Home games are played at Gradski stadion Jadranovo in blue and white. The ground where the Neretva empties into the Adriatic is a modest one, and the fixture that matters most doesn't need a big stadium to carry weight: against NK Neretva Metković, from the neighbouring town upriver, in what locals call the Neretva Derby.

League form has turned in the club's favour recently. After years shuffling around the third tier — relegation in 2012/13, a fifth-place finish in 2017/18 — Jadran LP finished third in the Druga NL and went up to the Prva NL, the second tier of Croatian football, putting the club back among the country's higher divisions for the first time in years.
