Kloetinge

Frits Paap played 72 matches for RBC Roosendaal after his debut in 2005, moving through the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie before his professional career ended in 2009. He came home to Kloetinge that year and kept playing.

The club he joined started out under a pastor, J.A. Raams, who founded it on 28 November 1931 as Unitas, open only to members of Christian youth organisations. That restriction lasted until 1935, when Raams left and membership opened to anyone. Unitas turned out to be too common a name for the Dutch football association's liking, and in 1938 the club became Kloetinge. The blue and black kit lasted until 1955, when the club switched to the green and white that gave supporters their name, the Green White Army.

Kloetinge has spent most of its life in the lower amateur classes, working up through Derde Klasse titles in 1987 and 1990, then Eerste Klasse in 2005 and again in 2022. The best league finish of the old amateur era came in 2001/02, second place in the Hoofdklasse. The real jump came recently: champions of the Vierde Divisie A in 2023, then of Derde Divisie B in 2026, which sent Kloetinge into the Tweede Divisie for the first time. That debut season starts in 2026/27, on the small pitch at Sportpark Wesselopark, where 230 seats sit above standing room for 1,500.
