Konskie

Końskie is a modest town in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The club began in 1946 as an OMTUR side that soon became Stal Końskie, then KKS Końskie in 1957, before a 1973 merger with Zamtal produced the name it still carries: Neptun, borrowed from a pre-war ironworks founded by Józef Mintz.

The high point came in the 1978/1979 season, when Neptun won the Kielecka Klasa Okręgowa and got past Huragan Międzyrzecz in the promotion play-offs to reach the III Liga, then the third tier of Polish football. They lasted one season there, finishing 13th, before dropping back to regional level. A second run in the III Liga followed in 2008/2009, when the club finished bottom of its group but stayed up anyway once the league was reorganised. Neptun now play in the IV Liga's Świętokrzyska group, in yellow and blue, at the 1,200-seat Stadion Miejski.

A cooperation agreement with Widzew Łódź feeds the club's youth setup, and it produced Daniel Marczewski, a goalkeeper who made his first-team debut at 16 before a loan spell at Korona Kielce in 2022.

None of it carries the weight of the fixture against Star Starachowice. Matches between the two are billed locally as the Świętokrzyskie derby.
