Kristianstad

Two clubs in the same town, Kristianstads FF and Wä IF, ran women's sections that were never going to grow apart from each other. On 5 November 1998 they folded them into one and called the result Kristianstad/Wä DFF. The compound name survived until 2006, when the club settled on Kristianstads DFF.

The season that made the club was 2008. Kristianstad went through Söderettan, the second tier, without losing a match and came up into Damallsvenskan. They have been playing at that level since.

The best of it came a decade later. In 2018 the side finished fourth in Damallsvenskan, the highest position in its history, and the same year moved out of Vilans IP into Kristianstads Fotbollsarena, a ground holding 3,080. Vilans had been home since the merger.

Twice the club has reached a Svenska Cupen final and twice come away with nothing. In 2013–14 Linköpings FC won 2–1; in 2018–19 Göteborg FC won by the same score. Two finals, two one-goal defeats, no trophy since the second-division title of 2008.

Home shirts are orange with black shorts and socks; the away kit is white.

What is missing is the thing the club has been close to twice. A cup would be the first senior honour of any weight in Kristianstad, and fourth place in 2018 remains the ceiling in the league — no medal, no European place, no final won.
