Landslake Lions Women

Ruud Nassette put the paperwork together in the closing weeks of 1971 so that a basketball club in Landsmeer could take the floor for the 1972–1973 season, and it is under that founding push that the Lions have played ever since. The women's team has done the heavier lifting for the trophy cabinet, playing under a run of sponsor names — Sneekhout, ProBuild, Loon, and since a 2022 deal with a poultry wholesaler, TopKip — while the shirts stayed red and dark blue underneath.

Six national championships came in the 2000s and 2010s, in 2001, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2016, a stretch that made the club a regular supplier of players to the Dutch national team. Tanya Bröring was one of them, leaving for the national side before returning to Landsmeer in 2015. A cup has stayed out of reach: in 2024 the Lions reached the NBB Beker final and lost to Sportiff Grasshoppers.

The team still plays out of the ICL Sportcenter in Landsmeer, a hall that holds 900.
