Leicesterfield

Leicesterfield sit in the National First Division, South Africa's second tier.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship, as the division is also known, is where most of the country's clubs spend their whole existence, and Leicesterfield, playing as Leicesterfield City in some records, is one of them.

Home matches are played at Dobsonville Stadium, known locally as Dobsie, a 24,000-capacity ground in Soweto also carrying Volkswagen's name through sponsorship.

What the club has produced, on the pitch, in silverware, in players who went on to be known elsewhere, has left little trace beyond the results themselves. It remains, for now, a name attached to a stadium and a division rather than to any individual who wears its colours.
