Marina Kastela Women

Two halls, not one, count as home for ŽRK Marina Kaštela: matches are split between the Gradska dvorana in Kaštel Stari and the Sokolana hall in Kaštel Sućurac, a divide that echoes how Kaštela itself is strung together from several older settlements rather than built around one centre. How many people fit inside either hall depends on who is asked, with estimates running from a few dozen seats to a thousand.

The nickname Kaštelanke ties the team to that patchwork town, and for most of its recent history the side did its work a level down, in the southern group of the Second Croatian Women's Handball League. That changed with promotion into the First Croatian Women's Handball League for the 2025/2026 season, the club's first season among the country's leading women's sides. No league title or cup has come with it yet.

The handball section sits under the wider Marina Kaštela sports banner rather than standing on its own, and its roots run back further than its own name suggests. The men's side that once carried the Marina Kaštela colours, now playing on as RK Ribola Kaštela, was founded in 1958, and it was out of that older club that the women's section grew.
