Pacific FC

Cavalry FC come from Alberta, Pacific from the far side of the Rockies, and in 2021 the two met eight times in a single season. Vancouver FC joined the league in 2023, giving British Columbia two teams, and the meetings between them are now called the Salish Sea Derby. Vancouver Whitecaps play in MLS, so that one only comes round when the Canadian Championship draws it.

Pacific began as a bid group called Port City FC, unattached to any city until the Canadian Soccer Association fixed the franchise to Vancouver Island on 1 June 2018. The club was presented under its present name on 20 July that year, the seventh in the Canadian Premier League.

The title came on 5 December 2021 at the expense of Forge FC. Alessandro Hodjapour scored on 59 minutes from a Jani dos Santos free kick, Callum Irving did not concede at the other end, and Hodjapour was named the final's best player. Pa-Modou Kah, coach of that side, was voted the league's manager of the year and left in early 2022 for FC Dallas. James Merriman, his assistant and at the club since 2018, took over.

Home is Starlight Stadium in Langford, inside the Victoria area, 6,000 seats and rather more when it hosts concerts.
