About the player
Max Anchor came through the Vancouver Whitecaps academy and signed a Homegrown deal at 17, a route that took him onto the MLS roster in 2022 and, that same year, into a single appearance for the first team. The rest of his time at Vancouver was spent with the club's MLS Next Pro side, Whitecaps FC2.
In 2025 he went out on loan to FC Pacific in the Canadian Premier League, playing there from March to September while his contract rights stayed with Vancouver. Those rights were the mechanism behind his next move: after going through the waiver draft, he joined Seattle Sounders as a free agent on 17 December 2025, signing for the 2026 season.
At Seattle he sits third in the goalkeeping pecking order, and in the early part of the 2026 campaign has featured for the club's affiliate side, Tacoma Defiance. He also holds Italian citizenship, obtained in October 2025.
