About the player
Nouhou started out at Rainbow FC in Cameroon before signing for Seattle's reserve side in April 2016, then playing in the USL. He was promoted to the Sounders' first team in January 2017; his first goal in professional football, that April, came for the reserve side, against LA Galaxy II. He has stayed at the club ever since — Seattle extended his contract in 2023 and again in January 2026, tying him down through 2029.
Cameroon made him captain: one goal in 48 appearances, against Cabo Verde during qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. Cameroon handed him his debut in November 2017, against Zambia, and he went on to start all three group games at the 2022 World Cup, including the win over Brazil. He has also played at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, taking bronze with Cameroon in 2021.
With Seattle, he has won the MLS Cup in 2019, the Concacaf Champions League in 2022 and the Leagues Cup in 2025. He was also picked for the MLS All-Star Game in 2021 and named to the Concacaf Champions League's Best XI the following year.
