Põhja-Tallinna JK Volta

In the district of Põhja-Tallinn, junior football needed a senior side to grow into, and the club that took shape in 2016 kept the names of the two youth teams that fed it — Must and Sinine, Black and Blue — as its own identity.

The rise through the pyramid came quickly. In its first season the club won the III liiga North, with striker Ian-Erik Valge finishing as top scorer — 39 goals by one count, 34 by another, enough either way to send Volta up a division. The following year, in their first campaign in the II liiga, they took the North/East group outright, going 18-3-5 across the season to earn promotion to the Esiliiga B.

Valge later moved on to Flora, Paide Linnameeskond and JK Tallinna Kalev, taking Volta's name with him into the higher tiers. Sergei Pareiko took on the role of sports director at the club as it settled into life below the top divisions.

Home matches are played at the Sõle jalgpallihall, built to hold 500.
