Polonia Nysa

Grom Nysa took its first shape in August 1946, put together by the Nysa Power Grid Construction Plant to give its workers a football side. The name did not last: a 1948 merger brought Ogniwo Nysa, the club became Sparta Nysa in 1954, and only in 1956 did it settle on Polonia Nysa.

The club has never held a national title. In the 1954/55 Polish Cup it reached the second round before Ruch Radzionków ended the run, and in 1959 it came close to the second tier through the play-offs. The clearest success arrived in 1993/94, when Polonia won the Opole regional league and went up to the third tier.

Relegation from the third tier followed a fifteenth-place finish in 2022/23, but the club answered with a runners-up spot in the regional fourth tier in 2023/24 and then won its way back up through the promotion play-offs, returning to the third tier for 2025/26.

Jarosław Studzizba began here before his career carried him to Górnik Zabrze and Lechia Gdańsk; he died in 2025. Franciszek Tokarski died in 2024. Matches against Ruch Zdzieszowice carry the weight of a regional rivalry supporters sometimes call the derby of the Opole region, though the name has never been official.

Stadion Polonii Nysa holds 2,000, of which 1,222 are seated.
