Across town, 1. HFK Olomouc supplies the opponent that matters most to this side, and the meetings between the two are known locally as the Olomoucké derby.

Sigma Olomouc B exists as the reserve arm of SK Sigma Olomouc, tied to the parent club's founding in 1919 rather than to a birth of its own. It plays at Andrův stadion hřiště č. 2, the second pitch of the Andrův Stadion complex. The players wear blue and white, and the side is known, like the senior club, as Hanáci.

Within the third-tier Moravian-Silesian Football League, the team stands as record champion, with four titles: 2000/01, 2007/08, 2014/15 and 2021/22. The first of those wins carried a consequence beyond the trophy — it sent Sigma B into the second tier for 2001/02, making it the first reserve team in the Czech Republic to reach that level. The side went further in 2023/24, finishing as runners-up in the Fortuna národní liga, the best league placing any reserve team has managed in that competition. The following season told the other side of that story: last place in the Chance Národní Liga, with six wins and eighteen defeats, and a return to the third tier for 2025/26.

Marek Heinz passed through the B side before it became this: he went on to play for Sigma's first team and now works as assistant manager for the reserves.
