Saran Loiret Handball

The team in Orléans traces back to 1974, when the municipal sports union set up a handball section under the name USM Saran. It stayed an amateur outfit for decades before the top-flight breakthrough of 2016 forced a change: the professional side split off from the parent association, was placed under the sports company Pro Handball 45, and took the name Saran Loiret Handball, known to supporters as Les Septors.

Fabien Courtial ran the bench for thirteen years, from 2010 to 2023. He handed over to Jérémy Roussel, who himself gave way to Luís Cruz in 2024.

William Accambray has worn the blue and gold, alongside Igor Anić and the Spanish pairing of Chema Rodríguez and José Manuel Sierra.

Home games are played in front of just over 3,200 at the Palais des sports d'Orléans, and the fixture that stirs the town most is against Chartres, billed locally as the Derby du Centre-Val de Loire.

Les Septors are still chasing the top flight, with Luís Cruz now tasked with finishing what Courtial's promotions started.
