SK Zabovresky

SK Žabovřesky enter this season on the back of a perfect 22–0 run through the 2. Liga in 2025–26 that took them up to the 1. Liga, the second tier of Czech basketball.

Sokol Žabovřesky followed in 1945, then Tatran, then Slavia under two different sponsoring bodies, before the club settled in 2006 on the name it carries now.

The women's side has its own separate line worth following. Playing as Sokol Žabovřesky, it took the Czechoslovak women's title in 1950–51. That section lapsed and was rebuilt only in 1993, by Jan Bobrovský and Jiří Hamza.

What SK Žabovřesky kept for itself through all of that was the men's section, playing in green and white at Hala Rosnička, a 2,000-seat hall in Brno. It is the same district the club was named for when it first took shape as a basketball section inside a wider sports club, back before anyone had settled on what to call it.
