Slavia Hradec Králové

Krajský přebor football in Hradec Králové is regional, and Slavia has spent most of its recent history there, some seasons in the fifth tier, others lower still, without the pretension of chasing anything higher. What keeps the club going is the pipeline underneath it: a youth setup built around the "Slavia Kids" programme.

The name has not always been allowed to stay. A badge survives from 1921, the year usually given for the founding, though the first written record of the club dates only to the 1926/27 season. In 1952, with "Slavia" judged too bourgeois for the era, the club became Dynamo Hradec Králové, a name it carried until the 1966/67 season restored the original. In 1991 it broke away from the wider multi-sport organisation TJ to stand as its own legal entity, FC Slavia Hradec Králové.

Nothing in the honours list rises above district or regional level: the Okresní přebor in 1966/67, 1982/83 and 2008/09, the 1.B třída in 1967/68 and 2009/10. There is no trophy cabinet built for a wider stage, and the club has never pretended otherwise.

Being a Slavia in a country where several clubs carry the same name leaves the supporters without a nickname of their own — they are slávisté, the word used for any Slavia's fans, in Hradec Králové as much as anywhere else.
