Spartak Soběslav

Spartak Soběslav go into the current season in the 4. Liga – sk. A, after league restructuring dropped them out of Divize A in 2024.

The club traces back to 1921, when it was founded as SK Soběslav. It carried the name TJ Spartak Soběslav through the communist period, adopting its present title, FK Spartak Soběslav, only after the Velvet Revolution. Through those changes the shirts stayed blue and white, and the town kept calling the team by the name that survived every rebrand: Spartak.

The 2016/17 season stands apart from the rest of the club's history. Winning the South Bohemian Region Championship sent Soběslav into Divize A for the first time.

The ground itself has been rebuilt more than once out of necessity rather than ambition. Work on the site began in 1949, and by 1954 it had one of the first grass pitches anywhere in the South Bohemian Region. Floods in 2002 forced another round of changes — the old wooden grandstand came down, changing rooms were redone, and an artificial pitch went in for training. What is left holds 560 people.

Records from the club's long stretch through the lower tiers do not single out one player above the rest, but the name attached most firmly to Soběslav's history is Spartak itself — the identity the town has kept through every renaming since 1921.
