Promotion to the National Basketball League came in 2023, the first time in the club's history, sealed against BK Gapa Hradec Králové after Sršni Písek had won the 1. Liga that season. Jan Čech coached the side through that promotion campaign.

The club grew out of the Tělocvičná jednota Sokol Písek gymnastic society, and Miroslav Janovský, who founded it in 1995, still runs it as president and sports director. Home games are played in front of 300 seats at Sportovní hala Sokol on Tylova ulice.

Vít Krejčí came through it before Oklahoma City Thunder drafted him in 2020.

A Czech Cup run in 2022/23 took Sršni as far as the round of 16. Between that, the league title and the promotion, the club spent the 2023/2024 season finding its feet in the top flight for the first time since the Wasps' name meant something only in the second tier.
