Tiverton Town

Twice, and only four other clubs can say the same: Tiverton Town lifted the FA Vase in successive seasons, 1997–98 and 1998–99.

The club began as Tiverton Athletic in 1913, taking the Tiverton Town name in 1921 — the same year it was evicted from its original ground and forced on to Elm Field. What replaced it, Ladysmead, has since been rebuilt and renamed and now trades as The Slee Blackwell Solicitors Stadium, holding 3,500 with 520 under cover.

Ben Foster passed through as a young goalkeeper before Manchester United and an England career gave his name weight; George Friend went the other way, arriving with Championship experience from Ipswich, Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion on his record. Unlike Phil Everett, whose 378 goals for the club stand unmatched.

Form since the golden era has swung hard. Relegation from the Southern League Premier Division came in 2011, promotion back followed in 2017 through the playoffs, and relegation returned in 2026. Taunton Town supply the regular derby; the New Year fixture against Plymouth Parkway carries the Devon-derby billing.
