Vellaznimi

The club dates back to 1948 and entered Kosovo's first organised championship the following year, part of a wider Vëllaznimi sports society that also fields football and handball sides.

What followed had less to do with silverware in the top flight and more with getting back to it. Vëllaznimi won the second-tier Liga e Parë four times, in 2004, 2013, 2020 and 2022. The 2024–25 Liga Unike title broke that cycle, only for relegation to follow the very next season — reversed when the federation handed the club a wildcard return after champions Drita withdrew, a decision that put Vëllaznimi back in the top division without another ball being kicked.

The Red-Blacks, as Gjakovë calls them, play in front of 2,500 at the Shani Nushi Sports Hall. No player is tied to the club's name the way Jericole Hellems is now: the American forward plays under captain Atik Koshi, and it is Hellems' form that Vëllaznimi's supporters watch most closely heading into the games against Peja and Prishtina that still decide how the season is remembered.
