Vulturii Fărcăşeşti

Stadionul Comunal in Fărcăşești holds 200 people. The paperwork caught up in 2017, when Vulturii Fărcăşeşti was registered as a club in its own right.

The name Fărcăşeşti meant little outside Gorj County until the 2023–24 season, when Vulturii finished the Liga a IV-a Gorj campaign with two rounds to spare, taking the title under coach Constantin Andriucă with Jiul Rovinari the closest challenger. The promotion play-off against Viitorul Severin, champions of Liga a IV-a Mehedinți, was settled well before the second leg: a 5–1 win away left the return fixture at home almost a formality, and Vulturii went up to Liga a III-a for the first time on an 8–3 aggregate.

They have stayed at that level since, and this season's Cupa României brought a result of a different order: a 3–2 win over FC U Craiova 1948, a club playing a division above them, before Concordia Chiajna ended the run with a 3–0 defeat.

The club's off-field record turned considerably less flattering when the Romanian Football Federation's disciplinary body ruled on the so-called Dosarul Cota 100 match-fixing case, fining the club 200,000 lei and banning club president Mihai Robert Dumitru for two years, with further suspensions handed to several players.

None of that erases the shape of the story that got them here: a village side built from local football that had nowhere formal to go until 2017 gave it one.
