«Wildcats»
Stewart Stadium sits on the Weber State campus in Ogden, holding 17,312 for a program that has spent more than six decades in the Big Sky Conference.
The Wildcats' football side dates to 1962, and their record in Big Sky play runs in clusters: conference titles in 1965 and 1968, then a long gap before 1987, then another stretch of nothing until 2008. The most recent run is the tightest of all — champions in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, four titles in four years, a run no earlier group of Wildcats matched.
Jamie Martin quarterbacked the team to the 1991 Walter Payton Award, given to the top player in NCAA Division I FCS football — still the name most associated with Weber State under centre.
Purple and white have been the colours throughout. Eight conference championships, spread across 55 years.
