Wolves

The Waterford Regional Sports Centre holds about 5,500 people, with roughly 3,000 of them seated.

The club was founded in 2011 and played its first games in late 2012. It grew out of a loss. Dave Collins, the original head coach, died before the team's first full-contact match, and the Wolves were established in his memory. Steve Collins stayed on as Coaching Advisor.

Three years later the team won the Irish American Football League (IAFL) Division 1 Bowl. The final, in 2015, was against the Cork Admirals, and Waterford took it 13–12. A one-point margin in a final is the kind of result cup football has its own rules.

The league is now called American Football Ireland (AFI). The Wolves do not appear in its current rosters, and the club is inactive. Its last visible seasons ran to 2019.
