«ThunderWolves»
Six thousand five hundred seats ring the ThunderBowl in Pueblo, a number that keeps the ground close and loud rather than grand, and close enough that a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) title chase there tends to feel personal to the town. Red and blue are the colours the ThunderWolves have carried through that history.
The RMAC crown first came in 1980, then stayed away for three decades. It returned in 2011 and did not let go for years: six conference titles between 2011 and 2018, a stretch that produced the club's only national honour, the NCAA Division II Football National Championship in 2014. After 2018 the RMAC title went quiet again until 2024, when it came back, and again in 2025, back-to-back.
Behind the team stands Colorado State University Pueblo, an institution whose roots go back to 1889, long before the ThunderWolves name or a national trophy existed to explain what the school would become on a football field.
