Sowa Town Council Stadium

Sowa Town Council Stadium opened in 2021 after Sua Flamingoes had spent a season travelling to Francistown for every home match. When the pitch finally accepted a full game against MR Highlanders in November of that year, the players could walk onto their own turf without checking the timetable.

The capacity is set at 1,500. It is a modest number for a league ground. The stadium has hosted local events beyond football, including a music festival and a campaign closing event, which suggests the space is shared rather than reserved for sport.

The changing rooms were not ready at the start. Their official opening in April 2022 marked the point where the club could truly settle in Sowa. Until then, the dressing room doors were locked in another town. The travel costs that followed the players home dropped once the facilities were complete. The difference is measurable in miles and hours, but it is felt in the way the squad behaves after a long away day.

The surface is natural grass, as is standard for the Botswana Premier League. The grass grows and wears in the same way it does elsewhere, but the stand is new and the sightlines are clear. There is no recorded attendance figure to anchor the history of the ground, which means the atmosphere is built match by match rather than inherited. Sua Flamingoes play against teams such as Gaborone United and Matebele FC here, and the distance between the touchline and the nearest seat is short enough that a misplaced pass is noticed immediately.
