Thimphu — Tensung: 4:1, Premier League

Thimphu secured a comfortable 4-1 victory over Tensung in the Premier League regular season on Thursday. The home side opened the scoring early, with Chencho Gyeltshen finding the net in the fifth minute. Tensung failed to respond, and the hosts gradually pulled away as the contest progressed.

Thimphu kept their dominance throughout. After the opening goal, they added a second in the 62nd minute before William Opoku Asiedu converted a penalty in the 71st. Gyeltshen completed his hat-trick with a goal in the 73rd, and added yet another in stoppage time at 90+3. Tensung found no answer to the mounting pressure.

The result leaves Thimphu fourth in the table with 28 points from 16 games. They have won nine matches, drawn one, and lost six. Tensung remain ninth with just eight points from two wins, two draws, and 12 defeats. The gap between the sides is now significant.

Thimphu's form has been strong of late. They beat Ugyen Academy 1-0, Circaring 4-0, Drukpa 2-1, and Transport United 3-0 in their last five matches before Thursday. A draw with Circaring was their only slip.

Tensung's recent record tells a different story. They lost to Drukpa 1-3, suffered another defeat against Bhutan U19 1-3, and beat Ugyen Academy 3-2. Their away form has been particularly poor, with losses to Transport United 1-4 and Thimphu City 1-7 in their last two outings.
