Drukpa

Changlimithang sits in the middle of Thimphu, a 15,000-seat national ground that doubles as the home of the Bhutan Premier League's clubs rather than the property of any one of them. Drukpa play their league football there alongside the sides they were built to beat.

The club did not start from nothing in 2026. It is Namlha FC under a new name, a new crest and a new intent — the crest shows a dragon biting a football, and the name carries the same idea: Drukpa means the people of the thunder dragon, which is what Bhutan calls itself.

The rebrand came with a coach in March 2026. Dorji Khandu arrived from Transport United, where he had worked as technical director, and holds the AFC Pro Licence. He inherited a squad with two South Korean signings on it, the forward Gi-been Lee and the defender Gyeong-yun Woo.

There are no honours yet. Those fixtures are played on the same pitch by both sides, which strips the ground of any advantage either way.

The leadership team was still to be named as the season began.

For now the club is a name, a coach and a dragon on a badge, playing in a stadium built for a country rather than for a club.
