Stade TP Mazembe
Lubumbashi, DR Congo
Formerly: Stade Mwanke
The stadium in Lubumbashi belongs entirely to the club. It was built by Tout Puissant Mazembe on the site of the old ground.
What distinguishes the place from other grounds is that it is the only stadium in Africa completely designed and sponsored by a football club. The surface is artificial turf, a system provided by the Italian company Limonta Sport, installed to meet the requirements of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
The club has held onto the ground since it opened in 2012. After renovations supervised by inspectors from CAF and FIFA in 2019, the venue was upgraded for continental competitions. Plans for a larger stadium were announced, but those are not yet reality. The address of the ground is 2100 Avenue Nguba Kamalondo. The history of the location stretches back to the 1940s, but the current structure is a product of the modern era of African football.
