About the player
Anuar Sapargaliev is a product of Altay's own academy in Ust-Kamenogorsk, joining the youth setup in 2015 before making his senior debut for the club in 2017. That first season ended with the Kazakhstan Second League title and promotion to the First League.
His clearest mark on the record books came in 2019, when he kept 12 clean sheets in a single First League season, a league record, and went 225 minutes without conceding at one stretch.
He spent 2021 at Aksu, then joined Ekibastuz, also known in some records as Batyr, for the 2022 season. There he was named to the First League's Symbolic Team for the 21st round, a rare individual recognition in a year spent away from Altay. He returned to his boyhood club permanently in March 2023, taking back the number one shirt.
Sapargaliev has not featured for Kazakhstan's senior national side. His story so far has been built almost entirely within the Kazakh lower and first divisions, with Altay as the constant thread running through it.
