About the player
Artyom Akatov spent a season training with Motor Lublin's first team before he was registered for it. He had been working with the senior squad since the summer of 2025, and on 12 February 2026 the Belarusian defender was officially added to the club's Ekstraklasa list.
He was born in Grodno and came through the Brest Football Centre and the ABFF Academy. Motor Lublin signed him in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer from FDC Brest. He began in the reserves, Motor Lublin II, in the Polish fourth tier, where he made 14 appearances. The first team had finished 12th in the Ekstraklasa in 2024/25, the season before he joined their training group.
His contract runs until 30 June 2028.
For a defender, Akatov has a notable record in Belarus youth shirts. He has played for his country at U-17 and U-19 level, and for the U-19s he has 12 caps and four goals. Two of those came in a 3-1 friendly win over Malta and in a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein in UEFA U-19 Championship qualifying. He has taken part in qualifying rounds in both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons.
