Aymane Mourid

Aymane Mourid captained Morocco's U23 side at the 2019 All Africa Games. It was one of the earliest marks he left on the national set-up, which he had joined with the U17s in 2016 and followed with a spell in the U20s from 2018 to 2019.

He started out at the Mohammed VI Academy in his native Casablanca, and in 2018 his path took him to Spain. Over the next four years he was attached to CD Leganés, appearing for the club and for its B team. In 2020 he returned to Morocco for a season on loan at Chabab Mohammédia, then spent three years at Union Touarga, from 2022 to 2025.

Mourid is a defensive or central midfielder who can also be used as a central defender. That range is part of what he brings to a side that needs cover across the middle of the pitch.

His national-team career has continued alongside his club moves. He was picked for Morocco A' for the 2023 African Nations Championship, although the tournament was cancelled. In 2024 he won his one cap for the U23 team.

In June 2025 he left Union Touarga for Russia and joined Baltika of Kaliningrad on a permanent transfer. It was his first move outside Morocco and Spain. He plays with his right foot.
