Benjamin Joshua Chrisene

Ben Chrisene made his senior debut for Exeter City in 2019 at the age of 15. The young defender became the club’s youngest-ever player, making a single league appearance before moving on. His transition to a new environment happened quickly; he joined Aston Villa in August 2020 after a brief period at the Exeter academy. The fee was undisclosed at the time, though reports later suggested a sum of £1.5 million.

Time at Villa Park saw him develop as a prospect. He helped the sides win the FA Youth Cup in the 2020–21 season. Development required experience, so he spent time away on loan. His first spell took him to Scotland with Kilmarnock in August 2022. He made 13 league appearances there before a medial ligament injury cut his stay short in January 2023. He then moved to Blackburn Rovers in January 2024. He made 16 league appearances for the Trotters during that campaign.

Chrisene returned to England permanently in July 2024. He signed with Norwich City on a four-year deal with an option for a further year. The reported fee was again £1.5 million. He has since settled into the first-team setup. As of September 2026, he has made 63 competitive appearances for the Canaries. His tally includes four goals across league, FA Cup, and EFL Cup competitions.

At international level, Chrisene has represented England from the U15 through the U21 ranks. He has earned a total of 23 caps for the youth teams. His U21 debut came on 15 November 2024 against Spain in a 0-0 draw. He has not yet received a senior cap, remaining focused on establishing himself in the club side. Standing 183 cm tall, he operates as a left-back.
