Borislav Tsonev

Borislav Tsonev won the Bulgarian Cup with Levski Sofia in 2021–22. He scored in the Round of 16 against Septemvri Simitli, and Levski went on to beat CSKA Sofia in the final. That season he also took the Bulgarian First League Goal of the Week award for his strike against Beroe in Week 6.

The cup came after a difficult stretch. Tsonev had come through Levski's academy after starting at Pirin Blagoevgrad, and he made his senior debut for the club in 2011. After returning to Levski in 2020, he tore the ligament again in 2021. He also picked up red cards for Levski in 2013 and 2014.

Between his two spells at Levski he played for Beroe, then moved to Inter Zaprešić in Croatia in February 2019 for €150,000. In January 2022 he signed for Chornomorets Odesa. Because of the war in Ukraine he was loaned straight to Slavia Sofia, where he played from February to June.

He joined Dalian Professional in China on a free transfer on 21 August 2022. After leaving Dalian, he played for Arda Kardzhali in 2024–25.

Tsonev made his Bulgaria debut on 8 September 2021, in a 4–1 friendly win over Georgia. He has not yet scored for the national side.

He signed for CSKA 1948 on 1 July 2025 on a free transfer, with a contract running to 2028. The club reached the Bulgarian Cup final in 2026, but the tie ended in defeat.
