About the player
Eduardo dos Santos Haesler, known as Dudu, spent six years in Werder Bremen's squad without playing a first-team match. He arrived from MSV Duisburg in 2018 and was registered with the senior group. Werder Bremen II gave him 43 appearances between 2018 and 2024.
His route to that point was a long one. The German goalkeeper, who is of Brazilian descent, began at DSV Königswinter and FC Hennef 05. He then moved through Borussia Mönchengladbach, Rot-Weiss Essen and 1. FC Mönchengladbach before joining Duisburg, from 2014 to 2018.
In 2021 Bremen sent him on loan to FC Nordsjælland for a season in the Danish Superliga. He played five matches there.
Regular football arrived after he left Bremen. He joined Viktoria Köln of the 3. Liga in June 2024 on a free transfer and played 52 matches over two seasons. It was the longest run of senior appearances at a single club so far.
On 2 February 2026 he signed for Estrela da Amadora of the Portuguese Primeira Liga, again on a free transfer, on a contract of two and a half years. Shortly afterwards the club loaned him to Portimonense in Liga Portugal 2. The loan runs until June 2027, so his first months in Portugal are being spent one division below the club that signed him.
Dudu has not been capped by Germany or Brazil at any level.
