Enzo Cornelisse

Enzo Cornelisse spent almost a decade in one system before it fell apart around him. He joined the Vitesse academy in 2011, having started out at ESA Rijkerswoerd, and made his way through to the first team, where he made 103 competitive appearances and scored twice. In the 2023/24 Eredivisie season he was a fixture in the side, starting 27 matches, and he continued in that role through the following campaign in the Eerste Divisie, at times wearing the captain's armband.

That second season told a harder story than the numbers suggest: Cornelisse was part of the Vitesse squad relegated from the Eredivisie in the summer of 2024, and he left when his contract ran out. When it did, Almere City moved to sign him on a free transfer, and he put pen to paper on a deal running to 2028, with the club holding an option for a further year.

The switch has kept him in a familiar role rather than a fresh start. Cornelisse has again been a regular starter in the 2025/26 Eerste Divisie season, and he has already had a hand in goals for his new club, scoring and setting one up in the game against De Graafschap in August. He arrives at Almere with no major team or personal honours to his name, but with first-team football at two different levels of the Dutch game already behind him.
